Tip of the Week: It’s Time For Summer!
The warm weather has finally arrived! Time for planning vacations, camps, parties and outdoor activities for the upcoming months.
But more importantly, realize some of the different photography scenarios you’ll face with bright sunlight and hazy skies.
Enjoy this season!
- A polarizing filter will help cut down bright reflections, hazy skies and make the colors of the sky & foliage deeper. Click Here for Example
- The bright mid-day light can "fool" your camera’s exposure calculation. If your shot is too dark or light, experiment with the "Exposure Compensation" tool.
- For non-candid shots, have your subjects close their eyes for a few seconds, then open them right before you open the shutter. This will reduce the risk of squinting or blinking during the shot.
- Camera health tip: your camera can handle the normal heat of outdoors, but NOT being locked inside a car. Normal Indiana summer temperatures are elevated to 131F – 172F inside of cars. Take it with you or keep it cool!
