Course Description:
Put what you learned in the Fundamentals of Photography into practice. This course is designed as a "next step" after grasping the fundamentals to provide a taste of 4 different genres of photography. Experience Builder provides an encouraging environment for you to apply your basics knowledge in a hands-on class that allows you to explore areas of interest. Each session is held at a different location around Indianapolis. Students are challenged with a new topic or theme to shoot.
Past sessions have included: nature photography, model portraits at sunset in a park, downtown architecture, food/product photography, abstracts & close-ups, etc. Topics vary by class, but each is designed to push your skills to the next level. After a brief introduction, the students are given time to practice and produce images relating to that week's theme. The instructor is available at all times for 1-on-1 help and guidance.
This class will meet in Indianapolis, within 20 minutes of downtown. Specific details will be emailed after registration.
This is a second level course. Students must have taken the Fundamentals of Photography class, or its equivalent, and have a working knowledge of their camera and basic computer operation.
Prerequisite: Fundamentals of Photography
Required Equipment: DSLR Camera (Digital Single Lens Reflex)
Suggested equipment: Camera manual
"The Experience Builder has been the best class I've taken with IPC. As an amateur, it's given me experience in so many genres to help me realize what kind I want to focus on. Jonathan's an awesome instructor and always assured me "there are no stupid questions." It was an amaxing experience." -Recent Student
